 For those that dont know here is the  nice ,safe ,watered down version. The Cathouse started in 1986 as a little bar that had a dj . It was agreed he would only play rock n roll. That DJ was named Joseph Brooks. Inside the club you would find the folks that were the ones not allowed on the other side of the velvet rope. The outcasts, the rebels yet inside these walls a group of friends would gather every Tuesday night unaware they were all to be part of the Greatest Music Scene in Rock n Roll. I originally sold the idea to my roomate at the time Taime Downe who was starting a band called "Faster Pussycat" Taime helped me get the word out. One of the local patrons and a  good friend   suggested I do a record release party for their upcoming EP. They even suggested playing live which at first I was against because I wanted the Cathouse to be a ROCK only dance club.  I finally agreed with Axl and called it our  Cathouse Christmas party to celebrate the record release party for Guns n Roses "Live Like a Suicide " . In addition to Guns n Roses, Faster Pussycat , Jetboy and L.A.Guns played..Sure that night paved the way to more performances by bands like. Alice in Chains , Megadeth, White Zombie,Motorhead,Black Crowes,Pearl Jam, Danzig ,Alice Cooper, The list is endless.....................For 6 years the Cathouse was #1 Rock n Roll Club in Hollywood. It had a reputation of a decadent shangrala where anything could and usually did happen. 

 Funny though it wasnt the bands, or the media attention that made the Cathouse truly World Famous...
