Everyone has there own memories of the Cathouse. Was it a band you saw, beautiful woman you met and is now your wife or perhaps your favorite rock star puking in the corner Ahhh what fond Cathouse memories. Send in yours now.
It was the first year of the Cathouse in 1986. At that time we were located on La Cienega. Alumni member/ doorman Keith was chatting up a few girls that had approached the club in a convertible VW Rabbit. The girls asked Keith what type of club it was to which he replied "Come on in you will love it" The girls were dresses in expensive designer clothes and they must have been sidetracked while on there way to a trendy Beverly Hills IN crowd place. The 2 seemed to be thinking about coming in the club when there was a loud crash on the stairway at he entrance of the club. It was Slash after a few ..dozen cocktails and he was holding a fake plastic tree and wearing a shirt that said CATHOUSE SECURITY. The girls never came in..

Lets see... I think it was Feb. of 1990. Brian (Baker) and myself (Pat Muzingo) went down to The Cathouse (when it was on Highland) as we always did. This time it was to check out this "new" band that was going to be our support act for the 1990 Summer Junkyard tour. As always Riki and all the "Alumni" gave us the royal treatment. It was a rainy night so it was kinda slow. Then again kinda slow for Cathouse on a Tuesday was still like 300 people! Anyhow, we were by the bar hangin out with our favorite barback when this band came on stage. I was under the assumption this band we were going to see was a metal band? I looked at Brian, he looked at me and we could not believe it. The band was good! They were real good!! For 3 months we had the luxury of watching this band open up for us every night. We also got to see how a small band from Atlanta went from setting up in front of our equipment to getting the Aerosmith tour. The rest, as they say is history. That band was The Black Crowes. - Pat Muzingo (drummer - Junkyard)

I did go to the Cathouse and I have alot of amazing stories but none that I can talk about in public.. hahaha! But honestly my favorite memories were all the differant dress up nights and halloween. I loved when someone pantsed little Eddie on stage and you (Riki) had to point out why his name was little Eddie.. Also, you had the biggest bands at the time play there. It was a really fun time for me infact, it was one of the best times of my life. Thank you Riki!! Cant wait for the reunuion. Me and Sharla will of course be on the dance floor the whole time. - Miss Kimmy

Well - just like most people's stories - mine should probably never actually be written down (to protect the guilty). I would always go with my best friend Wendy. We used to joke that we checked our morals at the door along with our coats. For some reason nights at the Cathouse always ended up getting completely out of control. Getting up for work the next day was challenging.

I do remember the Jetboy record release party where the guys from Motorhead got up and played. They are the loudest band in the world! That night was a blast - a great night for a variety of reasons. There were so many great shows there Faster Pussycat, Pearl Jam, LA Guns, etc

Wendy had a huge crash on Glen Danzig. He was hanging out one night, and she did not have the nerve to talk to him so I pushed her barreling into him. That still was not enough she just apologized and walked off (cussing me out under her breath).

I remember the strange phenomenon of the guys hanging out in the girls bathroom. That guy (Matt??) from the Couchsluts was always hanging out in there. I had no reason to complain he was cute.

There was also my favorite "bartender with attitude" Mark Weiner. I miss him.

Anyway thanks for all of the good times. - Kristin
